Why a confirmed climber is playing with death to fight short-lived exploits ? Marc Batard has finally found the answers to these questions after thirty years of passionnated conflicts with the highest Earth peaks. He set foot twice on the Everest peak, climbed up the most difficult sides of the Alps, found out the way of inside recovery. He succeeded in fighting the soul trouble by dint of physical suffering. Then he spoke about childhood violence, and chock drag as a millstone during decades. Following his peaks therapy, Marc Batard has pursued his introspection.

At 52 years old, he is the father of two children and the grand-father of three ones. And he finally knows who he is. He is homosexual. This repression led him to years of fights and conflicts before to come to the reality hide through the social pressure and the “normality” need.Today he is in his life.Climbing is an old story. He is painting the men around him, and also loves one. This is the equanimity recovering of a man who had put his finger on clouds so many times.

 Después de 30 años de lucha encarnizada con las cimas mas altas del mundo, Marc Batard encontró finalmente respuesta a estas preguntas.

Necesitó para ello alcanzar dos veces la cima del Everest, trepar las caras mas difíciles de los Alpes para entrever el camino de la curación interna.

La fuerza transmitida por mucho sufrimiento físico le permitió afrontar la enfermedad del alma. Y finalmente pudo hablar de la violencia de su infancia, del traumatismo arrastrado como una cadena durante años. Al cabo de esta “terapia de las cimas”, Marc Batard continuó la búsqueda de su interior.

A los 52 años, padre de 3 hijos y abuelo de dos, supo finalmente quién era. Era un homosexual.

Estos sentimientos reprimidos representaron años de escapes y de conflictos antes de confesarse una evidencia que la presión social y la necesidad de normalidad lo obligaron a esconder.

Hoy en día, Marc Batard le hace frente a la vida. Para él, el alpinismo es una historia antigua. Ahora pinta a los hombres que lo rodean, y ama a uno en particular. Es la serenidad lograda por un héroe que durante mucho tiempo pudo tocar las nubes con los dedos.
