Septembre 1944. Liberation of Lyon. The prefect Yves Farge requisitioned 41 hotels in Megeve to welcome the most underprivileged children of the region, as their way of life horrified him. This winter sports resort choice is a symbol. For three years, militiamen and german soldiers had lived here in an insolent opulence. From 1944 to 1946, one thousand children were living in this place usually booked for tourists. They discovered again the life joy.

Other resorts had followed, as Villars de Lans...

The Charity Children villages is born from this educational utopia. And the model of this one experiment is repeated abroad.

Frédéric Sauzay counts the moving story of the Children Villages through archives documents and poignant memories of those who have lived this adventure.

Septiembre de 1944: liberación de Lyon. El Comisario de la Republica Yves Farge, espantado al ver las condiciones de vida de los niños de la región, requisa 41 hoteles de Megève con el propósito de acoger a los más desfavorecidos de entre ellos. La elección de esta estación de ski es altamente simbólica. Durante 3 años, militares y oficiales alemanes vivieron en ella en una opulencia casi insolente. Entre 1944 y 1946, más de mil niños ocuparon un espacio “normalmente” asignado a los turistas y así pudieron redescubrir la alegría de estar vivos.

 Después siguieron otras estaciones como Villars de Lans…

 De esta utopía pedagógica nació la Obra de las Aldeas Infantiles, una experiencia única cuyo modelo ha sido copiado en el extranjero.

 Documentos de archivo y recuerdos desgarradores de aquellos que vivieron esta aventura permitieron al realizador Frédéric Sauzay retrazar la emocionante historia de las “Aldeas para niños”.
